Playa Bowls opens 2 more spots on the Jersey coast, just in time for summer
Playa Bowls opened two branches on the Jersey Shore last week.
The popular franchise, which promotes itself as “Original New Jersey Açaí Shop, Opened Saturday at Sea Bright at 1110 Ocean Ave.
An Ocean City spot, located at 1324 S. Boardwalk, opened on May 15. There is also a Playa Bowls inside the Promenade Food Court at 744 Boardwalk in Ocean City.
Playa Bowls is known for its smoothie-based bowls topped with fruits, granola, nuts, and other fresh ingredients.
The company was founded in Belmar in 2014 by New Jersey natives Robert Giuliani and Abby Taylor. The duo recreated and tweaked their favorite pitaya and açaí bowl recipes they discovered on surf trips to the West Coast and Central America.
Playa Bowls has increased the footprint of its stores across the state, as well as across the country. There are now 60 Playa Bowls stores in New Jersey and over 100 nationwide.
