5 things to do on the Jersey Shore this week
NEW JERSEY – There is a lot to see and do in Jersey Shore this season.
Many annual events return this spring and summer after the coronavirus pandemic canceled them last year.
The Jersey Shore is full of activities and events that people look forward to every week.
Patch rounded up five things to do in coastal towns this week, from free mom rides to sunny sidewalk sales.
Free spins for mom
Jenkinson’s Boardwalk in Point Pleasant and Playland Castaway Cove in Ocean City are celebrating Mother’s Day this weekend by offering free rides for Mom.
At Playland Castaway Cove, mothers can ride for free on Saturdays from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Sundays from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Jenkinson’s Boardwalk offers free entry for mothers with one paying child all day on Sunday at these attractions: Amusement Park, Adventure Lookout Ropes, Castaway Cove Mini Golf, and Lighthouse Point Mini Golf.
Music concert in Asbury Park
The Axelrod Performing Arts Center begins its “Up On The Roof” concert series in Asbury Park Wednesday at 6 pm
The concert will feature the Paragon Ragtime Orchestra (PRO), which only performs the works and arrangements of acclaimed Asbury Park conductor Arthur Pryor.
The recently restored Arthur Pryor Bandshell is located on the Fifth Avenue promenade.
Cape May Spring Sidewalk Sale
Spring sidewalk sales at Washington Street Mall will run from Thursday, May 13 through Sunday, May 16 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Staff and buyers are requested to wear masks.
The Washington Street Mall has clothing boutiques, antique stores and confectionery.
In the event of two-day rain, the sale will move to May 22 and 23.
The Washington Street Mall is located at 401 Washington St.
Seaside Heights Restaurant Week
A Taste of Seaside Heights Restaurant Week will begin from Friday May 14 through Sunday May 23.
A complete list of participating restaurants is available online.
Diners can also enter to win prizes on the Restaurant Week website, including restaurant gift cards and two free daily 2021 Seaside Heights beach badge coupons.
The fair will be held at the South Cafetorium of Toms River High School on Saturday, May 15 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Sunday, May 16 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Over 50 tables will feature antiques, crafts, collectibles, exhibits from local historical societies, art exhibits, children’s entertainment, music, baked goods and snacks.
Admission costs $ 2 per day for people 18 and over. Toms River High School South is located at 101 Hyers St.
