Atlantic City mega-vaccination site gets approval in reverse – BreakingAC
Atlantic City’s vaccination megasite changed a bit this week.
Gaten Matarazzo, one of the stars of Netflix’s “Stranger Things,” received his second dose against COVID-19 at the Convention Center site.
Originally from Ocean County, Matarazzo took to Instagram to share his experience and encourage others to get vaccinated.
“Round two! Fully vaccinated!” He wrote, accompanied by photos of him taking his photo and then posing with some of the site staff.
Matarazzo also used their post to let it be known that the site continues to accept walk-in tours.
Anyone arriving between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. until May 1 will not need an appointment. They will be viewed on a first come, first served basis while supplies last.
Those who make an appointment via vaccination.atlanticare.org will be given priority. Residents are encouraged to try this way, as the meeting slots have continued to open.
Vaccine eligibility is now open to anyone 16 years of age or older. A parent or guardian must accompany anyone under the age of 18.
Atlantic County reported 42 newly confirmed cases on Monday, including a 5-year-old boy and a 16-year-old girl. There were no new deaths.
“We encourage everyone in the community to get vaccinated,” said Sherrie Bragg, MSN, RN, who is manager of clinical facilities at the megasite. “As Mother’s and Father’s Day approaches, graduation and other spring and summer events and celebrations, getting vaccinated and taking other precautions are key to preventing the spread of the disease. COVID. We prefer that individuals make an appointment online. However, we do offer walk-in appointments for the convenience of our community. “
